This year's Lord Mayor's fundraising event promises to be one big community party. As well as being entertained by circus performers, fairground rides and DJs, you'll be able to raise money for your favourite community group.

A third of the ticket price will be donated to a charitable cause of your choice, within Coventry and Warwickshire. The rest will be split between the Lord Mayor Councillor Andy Matchet's charities – Heart of England Community Foundation, Coventry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre, and Coventry Peace House.  Small, local groups rarely benefit from events like this, so we hope that everyone will get behind the idea.

The event is part of the Ricoh Arena's Circus and there will be a feast of circus entertainment, dancing and food - all included in the price.  It promises to be a great night out and ideal for your Christmas party, as well as a fantastic way for everyone to make a donation and celebrate the local community sector – so don't delay, book today!

Interested? The fun takes place on:

Wednesday 10 December
7pm to 1am
Jaguar Hall, Ricoh Arena

Tickets cost £27

Your evening includes:
Theatrically dressed venue…reception drink…ethnic and English food…circus ring acts…free funfair…live band…cash bar…cloakroom…free parking…discounted on-site hotel rates

Hillfields Fireworks Festival of Light
Southfields School starting at 6.00pm
Hillfields is planning its annual fireworks spectacular, and this year's event combines the celebration of two traditions, both Bonfire Night and Diwali so this year's event will be called Hillfields Fireworks Festival of Light.

Nearly one thousand people from across Hillfields are currently taking part in arts activities to produce costumes and giant lanterns for a procession to be held on the night.  They will also produce an atmospheric show in a copse of trees using dry-ice and UV light.  Local artist Kate Turner has been working with people of all ages to create lotus flowers, phoenix birds, and much more that will delight and inspire.

The line up of entertainment includes live music from Coventry's community radio station the HillzFM and live performances from dance troupes and fire performers.  Traditional bonfire night foods will be on sale alongside fresh doughnuts, hot dogs, ice-cream and wonderful Indian food.

The firework display normally attracts up to 2,000 people so to avoid queues on the night take advantage of the sizzling special offer on advance tickets.  Prices are £2 for adults in advance and £2.50 on the gate, £1 for children in advance and £1.50 on the gate, only £5 in advance for a family ticket covering 2 adults and 3 children and £7 on the gate. Tickets are available from Hillfields Schools, Post Offices, Hillfields Children's Centre, and the Neighbourhood Management office at 31 Primrose Hill Street.
